As Managing Director, Robert Hercus provides overall leadership and management for technology development, business enhancement, corporate image, organisational growth, and sound financial health of MGRC. He also establishes an effective working relationship with the Board of Directors to develop policies and plans consistent with the shareholders’ mandate, and provides consultative advice on all aspects of MGRC’s operations.

Robert earned his BSc (Hons) Degree in information science from Monash University. He has over 40 years’ experience in information science, specialising in large-scale computing infrastructure and computationally intensive projects.

Munirah binti Haji Abdul Hamid serves as the Executive Director of MGRC. Besides contributing significantly towards the company’s continuing growth and expansion into new markets, she is responsible for MGRC’s administrative, legal, accounting, human resource and marketing functions.

Munirah earned her LLB (Hons) from the University of London. She has over 38 years’ experience in running various businesses. In addition, Munirah is an active social worker who has contributed significantly to society for more than 40 years, especially for the betterment of women and children in education. Working together with her childhood friends and other volunteers, she is the main coordinator of a soup kitchen project that feeds and provides basic medical service to Kuala Lumpur’s homeless and hardcore poor four nights a week.

Cheah Sek Hon graduated from the University of Wales, UK, with a Master of Business Administration degree. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Cheah started his career in the auditing of private and public listed companies in the manufacturing, plantation and service sectors. He later progressed to listed companies in the property development, manufacturing and technology sectors.

His responsibilities as MGRC’s Financial Controller include financial planning, financial reporting, and enhances to financial processes and controls, among others.

Dr Laurence James Croft leads the bioinformatics team at MGRC and also manages the sequencing laboratory. He has 20 years of experience in bioinformatics, especially in bacterial, fungal, animal, and plant genomics and transcriptomics. He has an interest in experimental design and has designed large data experiments that utilise next generation sequencing, PCR, mass spectrometry, high-throughput cell assays and custom array technologies.

Dr Croft’s experience in mathematics, statistics, molecular biology, lab techniques and programming have seen him work in both the pharmaceutical industry and academia in the United States, Australia, Denmark, Switzerland and Malaysia. He has first author publications in high impact journals such as Nature Genetics and Microbiology and his publications have been cited by the Australian judiciary. Dr Croft also has research interests in cancer transcriptomics, non-coding RNAs, and the computational architecture within mammalian cells.
